When your last order arrived we explained how every pound you spend with us contributes to conservation efforts in Guatemala. Together, we are making it possible to employ local people who protect and manage local forests. Today, we would like to introduce you to Victor, one of our forest rangers in the protected area of Cerro San Gil.
Victor looks after 600 hectares of community forest. For every acre planted, Victor is receiving money to protect it. He has already benefited from 9 hectares of naturally planted forest, which has helped his family and the education of his children. He has also been able to grow pepper as an additional income stream - without cutting down a single tree.
Conservation is a passion and a way of life for Victor and his entire family, who help him look after the land. The program supported by your subscription allows him to have a fulfilling, motivating career that keeps him happy whilst supporting his loved ones and protecting local forests. This is providing clean air and pure water for everyone.
Thank you so much for your part in making it possible!
